The morning, take the Sapsan (Bullet) train from Moscow to St Petersburg. You will cover the 700 km journey is less than 4 hours. Upon reaching St Petersburg, check in to your hotel. Later in the afternoon, visit the beautiful city of St Petersburg. To many, St Petersburg is the most beautiful and romantic city in Russia. It resembles Paris, Amsterdam and Vienna, but adds a typical Russian flavor. Around 300 years ago, St Petersburg began to rise from the Neva's boggy delta. Thousands of workers labored in a monumental effort against time and the elements to satisfy the autocratic will of one man: Peter the Great. Recently, to celebrate 300 years of St Petersburg, thousands of workers were again involved in an endeavor nearly as monumental: to restore the city's elegance and baroque grandeur. St Petersburg today is like an aging beauty- immediately after a facelift. After check in to your hotel, you can spend the evening at the Nevsky Prospekt which is the city's central shopping street and the hub of city's entertainment and nightlife.
